Trinity Lutheran Church
A shot of Trinity Lutheran Church on the northeast corner of 46th Street & 4th Ave. If I had to guess, I’d say this one was taken sometime in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Photographer unknown.
Original 68th Precinct in Brooklyn
Here is a shot of Brooklyn’s original 68th precinct on 43rd street & 4th ave. Shut down in the early 1970s, it has been closed and boarded up for my whole life. There were plans of opening up some sort of music school in the building in the late 1980s/early 1990s, but that those plans never materialized. The property was purchased by new owners earlier this year so hopefully they’ll do something good with it before it crumbles away completely. The attached garage on the left was once a stable for NYPD horses. Photo appears to have been taken some time in the late 1980s.
